North
JFK started the day in Palm Beach before flying north to prepare for the inauguration. He was running late as the motorcade entered the West Palm Beach airport.
Lifting off at 2:04 PM, he was settled in his private compartment at the back of the plane, where he had filet mignon for lunch, washed down with a glass of milk.
Afterwards, he worked on his inauguration speech with Ted Sorenson and Evelyn Lincoln. In the middle of all this, he gave a disjointed interview to journalist Hugh Sidey.
