JFK invited journalist and friend Charles Bartlett and his wife to dinner at the White House. Afterwards, the two men walked through the West Wing and into the Executive Office Building where presidential press conferences were held in the Eisenhower administration. Kennedy was interested in soliciting Bartlett’s experiences at Ike’s press conferences.
