JFK was in the White House this day and made a broadcast speech regarding the United Community Campaigns Project. The speech was witnessed by several guests, including Asa T. Spaulding (to Kennedy’s left), the President of the North Carolina Mutual Life Insurance Company, and a prominent African-American business man in the Raleigh-Durham area.
