In a scene captured on film and widely shown, a military helicopter carrying JFK lands on the lawn of the Kennedy house at Hyannis Port. Waiting for him are his children and Jackie, obviously pregnant and in a simple pink summer dress.

As JFK emerges from the helicopter first John Jr. then Caroline run across the lawn to greet him. Also emerging from the helicopter are RFK and Sarge Shriver, who are also greeted by young children.

Jackie stays back and JFK greets her in a friendly manner, but on the film they do not hug or kiss.
