JFK was in Pocatello, Idaho where he gave an address. He started brought up his idea of a New Frontier and made several play on words by callling Alaska the Last Frontier and Idaho the Energy Frontier and Detroit the Industrial Frontier.
Not surprisingly given the mineral intensive nature of the resources in Idaho, he spoke at length about the energy and resource industries and discussed the depressed lead and zinc markets.
