In the morning, JFK, who had gone to bed not knowing the results of the election, is awoken by Caroline with the words, “Good morning, Mr. President.”
During the day, JFK remains in Hyannisport. In the evening, his father decides the family entertainment that evening will be watching movies (North To Alaska and Butterfield 8) in his private screening room, although he did not attend as he had previously watched the films
Shortly to be one of the world’s most powerful men, JFK acquiesces to his father’s wishes, but with his father not in attendance, sneaks out twenty minutes after the showing began.
