JFK leaves Los Angeles after securing the Democratic nomination for President and flies to Boston’s Logan Airport. He is greeted by a crowd of 13,000 before he changes planes and flies onto Cape Cod.
After Kennedy landed, Jackie who was somewhat reluctantly at the airport to meet him, boarded the plane before JFK disembarked. The couple left the plane with Jackie in the lead and Jack following into the cheering, clapping crowd.
JFK worked the fence line while Jackie and the Hyannis Port neighbor Larry Newman that JFK had enlisted to bring his wife to the airport stood on tarmac.
