JFK released a statement from the Democratic Party and also added a statement of his own regarding United State farm policy. The joint statement was signed by several governors of midwestern states, including Herschel Loveless of Iowa, George Docking of Kansas, Ralph Herseth of South Dakota, and Gaylord Nelson of Wisconsin.
