JFK was in the last day of a 5 day swing through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts campaigning for re-election to the United States Senate.
He started his day in Springfield where he attended a 9:45 am assembly at the Milton Bradley Company. He then moved three additional stops in the morning including visiting the Massacusetts Mutual Insurance Company (10:20 am), he Springfield Fire and Marine Company (11:00 am), and the Springfield Shopping Center (11:30 am).
Kennedy then headed to Westfield where he spoke to an assembly of the H.B. Smith Company. Afterwards, he held a public meeting in the city square.
Never one to work through a meal time, JFK took a break for lunch and then at 2:30 started an open car tour of Agawan and did another public meeting at the Agawan Shopping Center.
It was onto West Springfield where there was a presentation made to Jackie Kennedy in the third public meeting of the day in the town square.
JFK then went back to Springfield for dinner and a rest from 5:00 pm until 7:45 pm when his group headed to Chicopee High School in Chicopee where he attended the United Fund Kickoff dinner to finish his campaign day of September 29, 1958.
