JFK had a typically long day in Washington which started with breakfast at 9:00 am a this Georgetown home at 3307 N. Street, N.W. with Leland Bickford and Normal Knight.
He then traveled to the Capitol for a 10:00 am subcommitte meeting on Welfare and Pension in room F-82. He met with Maryland Senator Nock at 12:15 pm and had another subcommittee meeting for the AmericanRrepublic Affairs in Rm F-53.
As he so often did at dinnertime, he made an appearance at a political event – this time the held by the American Legion in the Presidential room of the Statler hotel, where he once lived.
Kennedy, who enjoyed watching movies, finished the day by watching a screening of “The Bridge on the River Kwai” at a theatre on 1600 Eye Street. He reportedly attended with Ray Bell.
