JFK had a 2:00 pm appointment with Mr. Christiansen. As he did so many times at the end of the day, he went to the Statler hotel to drop by a cocktail reception held by the American Retail Association and then went on to another cocktail hour at the Mayflower Hotel held by the Scientific Apparatus Makers Association.
