JFK had a very busy day on Capitol Hill, traveling to3rd and Constitution Avenue to meet with Judge Matthew McGuire in his 2nd floor chambers at 9:45 am for 15 minutes before giving a short 5 minute speech at the swearing-in-ceremony by Judge McGuire for new citizens.
At 11:30 am, Kennedy met with a Mr. Coe and a Mr. N. A. Clark. He then took a late lunch with Allan Dulle and Mr. McInerny at the 1925 F. Street Club.
Afterwards, he headed back to the Capital Hill, where he attended a meeting on government operations in room Y-82 and then attended a reception for the A. J. Fletcher Company in Room 259 in the Mayflower Hotel.
Kennedy, who was not a heavy drinker, finally finished his day with cocktails with Drew Pearson and Louis Bromfield.
