JFK traveled across the Potomac River to Virginia where he had lunch at the Pentagon at 1:00 pm. He then headed back to Capitol Hill where he attended a Government Operations committee meeting at 3:00 pm.

At 6:00 he attended an event for the Massachusetts Real Estate Association at the Hotel Statler, where Kennedy had previously taken lodgings. At 7:30 pm he met with a Mr. Ross.
