March 3, 1953 (Tuesday)
JFK was in his Senate office and had an 11:00 am meeting with a Mr. Weiss from the Labor Department. At 12:45 pm he attended a lunch hosted by Senator Smith of New Jersey in honor of Admiral Blandy in room F-41 of the Capitol.
At 4:30 pm he met with Dean Landis and then went onto a one of the innumerable receptions he attended in the Presidential room of the Statler hotel, this time for the National Association of Manufacturers. at 5:30 pm.
At 6:30 pm he attended another cocktail hour (JFK was by all accounts a moderate to minimal drinker) for the New Bedford Cotton Association.
At 8:30 pm the immensely telegenic Kennedy went to the 8th floor of the Raleigh Hotel to tape a television interview and at 10:30 pm did a repeat radio broadcast with Boston Post Washington correspondent John Kelso and Speaker of the House Joseph Martin.
