JFK attended the executive panel of the Labor committe held at 10:30 am in Room 324 of the Capitol Bldg. At 12:30 he attended a buffet luncheon given by the Chinese ambassador in honor of Madame Chiang Kai Shek at 3225 Woodley Road in the Embassy row neighborhood.
Back on Capital Hill, he attended a meeting in Montana Senator James Edward Murray’s office at 3:00 pm. Murray was an influential Democratic senator for many years and was the Chairman of the Committee of Labor and Public Welfare of which Kennedy was a member.
At 7:00 pm JFK attended a dinner held by the South Boston Lithuanian-American Society.
