Repairs
JFK took PT 109 and his crew off the frontline at the Russell to return to Tulagi for repairs of three engines. One fellow sailor maintains this was a scheduled rebuild and not the result of Kennedy crashing his boat into the dock several days previously.
The crew left at 10 A.M. and made Tulagi by 2:30 .M.
