Coca-Cola
JFK wrote his chum (Kirk) Lemoyne Billings from the U. S. embassy in Paris trying to arrange for a summer of fun together before Billings started his position at Coca-Cola.
Dear Kirk:
Smacking this out on that old typewriter so it won’t be making too much sense. Received your letter with that attractive clipping of us al [in Rome] and am pleased to relate that was a sash which was given to me by the Pope for being such a hell of a guy. Working hard these days and take it from the horses mouth that if you can possibly get out of working this summer I would – provided of course that it doesn’t interfere with your getting a job as boy once you start you really have to stay with it. My idea of a poor way of spending the summer is scintillating with those roadside-stand boyw who are selling that old Coke.
