It Will Look Quite Bad
JFK wrote a letter to his lifelong friend Lem Billings about his consternation over the not being able to serve in the upcoming conflict.Well aware that his underlying health status will prevent him from passing an entrance physical to the Armed Forces, Kennedy writes to his pal, “They will never take me in the Army. And yet if I don’t go it will look quite bad.”
