JFK was in South America and flew to Argentina on this day. From Buenos Aires, he traveled to Cordoba and to Francisco de Vittoria, the estate belonging to the Carcano family, where he was greeted by Senora Carcano and her two daughters, Baby and Chiquita, and their brother Michael. Senor Carcano at the time was Argentinian ambassador to the Vichy government.
His visit lasted two weeks, during which he had an affair with Baby, who would remain infatuated with him for the rest of his life.
