JFK was in New York before traveling to Florida for the Christmas holiday. He wrote a letter to Clare Booth Luce (whom he would later reportedly bed) to thank her for inviting him to a dinner in honor of her daughter Ann, who was planning on attending college in Palo Alto, California. When he wanted to, Jack could be suave and charming,

“I certainly enjoyed meeting you and Ann. Those 6 ft 4 – 220 pounders from Stanford will give her no trouble at all.”
