Oath
JFK took the oath of office during the swearing in ceremony for his first term in Congress. His grandfather Honey Fitz had been scheduled to attend by sent regrets via a last minute telegram.
“Incredibly bad weather conditions have made it inadvisable for me to atttempt trip to Washington today. May today mark the beginning of service that will make your name someday a household word throughout the country. Feeling pretty good. Grandpa.” *
