{"id":8237,"date":"2018-05-13T20:03:43","date_gmt":"2018-05-14T00:03:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dailyjfk.com\/?p=8237"},"modified":"2018-05-13T20:24:23","modified_gmt":"2018-05-14T00:24:23","slug":"the-inn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyjfk.com\/the-inn\/","title":{"rendered":"The Inn"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>JFK and his friend Joseph Patrick Lannan moved to the Camelback Inn after a short, unsatisfactory sojourn at the Biltmore Hotel in Phoenix during his 1945 sojourn to the West to try to regain his health and stamina.<\/p>\n<p>As Pat Lannan recalled to a previous biographer;<\/p>\n<p>&#8230; we moved over to the Camelback Inn for a couple of weeks. It was an expenive place, so we hared a double room-didn&#8217;t even have a sitting room. His father shipped us another box of steaks and chops and we gave them to the chef&#8230;. The Camelback was a small, but very nice place. We rode here every day&#8230;. we&#8217;d ride out into the desert to an area they called Sun Valley, where Frank Lloyd Wright had his place. We would wile away the hours talking about buying the whole valley and developing it. We actually talked to a couple of real estate men about it, but we lost interest.
