Moe was a Doberman Pinscher that JFK acquired while he was living in Arizona at a remote ranch. When JFK left Arizona, he shipped
the dog back to Hyannisport in a crated container with a note attached to it explaining what the dog’s name was and that there was no danger that Moe would bite.
When Teddy opened the crate, the dog, of course, promptly bit him.
Moe was kept by the Kennedy family initially and became quite attached to Rose, who would take him for walks. However, he was very aggressive towards all the other members of the family, frequently biting any one who came close.
After five weeks, the dog “had to go” and one day disappeared, fate unknown.
