McGeorge Bundy was named in 1961 by Kennedy to be National Security Advisor.

After JFK’s death, he continued on as LBJ’s National Security Advisor unitl 1966. A military hawk, Bundy was in support of the escalation of the Vietnam war.
Bundy was born in Boston and attended Groton prep school and Yale University, where he was a member of the Skull and Bones secret society. Later in his caree, he was president of the Ford Foundaton.
