Emma was one of the group of young women who banded together to support JFK’s 1st run for Congress in 1946. Born in 1920 in Boston and married in 1943, she took time away from her family to work at his campaign headquarters doing office tasks. She kept a thank you letter from Jack, signed in his signature scrawl with a personalized note to her, as a prized momento.
She also worked for Edward Kennedy in his early Senate campaign.
