JFK starts the school year at Edward Devotion school. Jack and his brother Joe had been sent back to Brookline to stay with family friends Eddie and Mary Moore, while his mother continued to vacation “at the beach.”

Upon his return, immediately turned to mischief, teasing a neighborhood girl, who promptly told the cops. JFK apparently hid in the cellar to avoid the long arm of the law. The six-year old JFK’s side of the story was, “Well, here I have been home only a few hours and the cops are chasing me already.”
