March 26, 1938 (Saturday)
JFK was living in London with his parents. He spent part of the day playing golf with his mother (an avid golfer) and father at Stoke Poges. The day was most notable for the fact that JFK’s father made a hole-in-one.
The course is about an hour south of London and is notable for the clubhouse, which was the former residence of an Anglican bishop. It is still a popular spa and resort and was used as a set in the making of the Goldfinger and Never Say Die James Bond movies, as well as Bridget Jones Diary.
