JFK lived part-time at 91st and Harding Avenue in Miami Beach when he was stationed at the PT shakedown unit in Miami in the spring of 1944 after his return from the Solomon Islands.
The apartment was shared on a communal basis by many of the PT officers stationed in Miami on a informal, crash-pad type basis. The assignment in the shakedown unit even for full duty officers was considered the coziest of billets and the fun-loving JFK, on limited duty, was rarely seen on the base.
